Christa grew up in Tennessee and has always had a passion for creativity, design, and making spaces feel both beautiful and welcoming. She is excited to be part of the Studio 36 team and continue growing in the interior design world. Outside of design, Christa is also an abstract artist and loves using painting and sculpting as creative outlets. She loves anything that feels inspiring and creative — whether that’s exploring local coffee shops, vintage thrift and furniture stores, gallery hopping, or spending time with friends and family.

Definitely Hermione Granger. I’m a huge Harry Potter fan — I’ve read all the books and seen the movies more times than I can count. She’s super intelligent, witty, and somehow always knows exactly what spell to use in every situation. Honestly, with Nashville traffic, being able to teleport everywhere or use magic to get through daily life sounds pretty ideal.
If you could swap lives with a fictional character for a day, who would it be?
For me, it’s the thoughtful contrast between styles and textures that makes a space feel complete — like mixing Japanese-inspired lamps and organic elements with more modern or sculptural pieces. I love when a space feels curated and intentional, where every detail adds character and balance without feeling overly styled.
What’s a small detail that instantly makes a space feel finished to you?
I’d describe my personal design style as minimal, warm, and timeless with a mix of mid-century modern, contemporary, and subtle farmhouse influences. I’m especially drawn to architectural elements, sculptural forms, organic textures, curated contrasts, and iconic pieces inspired by Bauhaus design and designers like Charles & Ray Eames and Marcel Breuer. I love the contrast of softer, organic textures with more brutalist materials like concrete and metal accents while still creating spaces that feel cozy, inviting, personal, and lived-in.
