KARRIE SEATON

The beach but I’m up for a vacation to almost anywhere! The sounds and the views at the beach is soothing and helps me take a step back and slow down.

Would you prefer a mountain or beach vacation and why?

Modern with a touch of history. I love clean lines, a pile of books and eclectic pottery pieces. And color! I love color in accessories and pillows and my artwork.

How would you describe your personal design style?

Almost everything! Inspiration can come from anywhere or anything, you just need to be open to what's in front of you.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU AS A DESIGNER?

After studying Interior Design at Middle Tennessee State University, Karrie decided that residential design was the niche for her and she’s been working in the field for more than 15 years. In her free time, Karrie loves spending time with her friends and family and playing the occasional hand of bridge.

STEPHANIE HANDLEY

It would have to start with waking up after about 12 hours of sleep ( just kidding, who has time for sleep!). So assuming I’m well rested when I wake up, the perfect Saturday morning would start with an extra large cup of coffee followed by spending the morning digging in my flower and vegetable garden. After sufficiently getting enough dirt under my fingernails, I would then have MORE coffee, and then go float in the pool. For hours. With friends.

WHAT'S YOUR PERFECT SATURDAY MORNING?

Basically, I want to love to walk into my home at the end of the day. For me, I want to feel immediately comfortable and casual, but with a few unexpected details. No room ever feels quite right in my home until it has its mix of elegant and thoughtful pieces juxtaposed with a quirky piece of art, or something I have found outside that I have turned into an accessory.

How would you describe your personal design style?

As cliche as this sounds, I really am most inspired by nature! I love seeing new color palettes everywhere I look. I spend most of my free time in my backyard garden, and the fresh veggies and flowers (peonies are a personal fave!) never cease being an inspiration to me.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU AS A DESIGNER?

Stephanie graduated with a bachelors of Fine Arts from O’More College of Architecture & Design in 2008. Since then, Stephanie has done every conceivable type of design one can do (that’s an exaggeration obviously, but seriously, ask her about all the jobs she’s had- she has excellent stories) but residential design is her calling.

I really love incorporating a wood element into designs. From a wood mantel, tongue and groove ceiling, rough hewn beams… anything white oak or walnut I just love!

What's a design trend you'll never get tired of?

Oh that’s tough, I’d say my personal style is a mix of Transitional European and relaxed, West Coast styles, with a dash of rustic elements. So a mix of natural elements, light filled rooms, earthy textures, and heirloom pieces. I love walking into a home that feels cozy but timeless and thoughtful.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL DESIGN STYLE?

Baylee is originally from Southeastern North Carolina and moved to Tennessee after graduating from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. Even though she loves all design- residential remodels and new construction quickly became her favorite projects to work on. When she's not designing- you will find Baylee playing softball or planning a future farmstead with her husband, Andrew.

If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?

’m going to cheat a little on this one just because I’m tired of moving so if I were to move again it’s going to be forever! I’d love to move out west and just ranch it up. Live on a big farm with horses and cows, surrounded by all the animals and kids- get buried in snow half the year and enjoy the views the rest of the time. I think my husband would agree, that would be the life.

chloe boucher

Chloe is originally from West Tennessee and moved to Nashville to attend O’more College of Architecture & Design. She graduated in 2019. Chloe spends half of her time exploring Nashville and the other half snuggling her two dogs, Marcie and Riley.

I’ve known I wanted to be an interior designer since I was young. I would rearrange my bedroom and repaint as often as my mom would allow.

WHEN YOU WERE A KID, WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP?

My dogs (we are counting them as one item!) , lots of nugget ice and snacks!

WHAT ARE 3 THINGS YOU WOULD WANT IF STRANDED ON A DESERT ISLAND?

The best way to describe my personal style would be boho. My home has lots of color and texture and I love to sprinkle in antique pieces here and there.

Jersey Mike’s Turkey & Provolone Sandwich, Mike’s Way or no way. And don’t forget pickles and banana peppers!

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Don’t wait for the perfect time to start something. There’s beauty in showing up and seeing what will grow from hard work and trusting the process.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten at work?

I think I fall somewhere between traditional and modern- personally, I love a warm, neutral pallet with small pops of color. I want my home to always feel light and comfortable!

Dolly Parton! I have always loved her, & I think she would be the most fun client to work with. Who wouldn't want to add a little sparkle to their space?!

If you could design a dream space for anyone, living or historical, who would it be?

My personal style is very eclectic! I love a contemporary feel with touches of French country & a few vintage pieces thrown in the mix. I adore a space    where each piece has a story & it immediately feels homey & inviting when you walk in.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL DESIGN STYLE?

I would love to one day skydive or paraglide over the Swiss alps!

What's the most random item on your bucket list?

MILES ROBINSON

While Miles is originally from Kentucky, he made the move to Nashville when he decided on Belmont University. He graduated from the O'More School of Architecture and Design in 2023. After graduation, he freelanced rendering services for local designers until finding his spot with the Studio 36 team. When he is not designing, you can find him seated at a local AMC with a popcorn and a blue icee working on his next Letterboxd review.

I grew up going to Crystal Lake in Michigan, so I definitely think it would have to be located there. With how gorgeous the lake is, it has to have tons of windows and a nice sunroom to start and end the day. After a long day on the lake, I love when everyone comes together for dinner, so I would have to put an emphasis on the dining room with a large table and comfortable bench seating so that everyone has a spot at the table!

What would your dream vacation home look like?

My favorite room to design is a bathroom. I love the opportunity it provides to do something unexpected with tile and natural materials that's exciting, yet deeply intentional. Design is about more than aesthetics, though, and I love that this is a space that impacts the start and end of a day.

What’s your favorite room to design and why?

I would describe my personal design style as wabi-sabi inspired modernism with a flair for the dramatic. I’m really drawn to natural materials with rich color and texture and spaces with intentional moments of drama from bold wallpaper or sculptural lighting.

I would say a dream vacation spot that inspires my design is Martha's Vineyard. Somewhere in the Northeast near water is a dream!!

Do you have a dream vacation destination that inspires your design?

I would say timeless and cozy, something straight out of a Nancy Meyers' movie. I love when my space has warm lighting, textures, and is overall inviting. I try to focus on the little things: the details that make my space feel personal to me.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL DESIGN STYLE?

No surprise to anyone.. a Nancy Meyers' movie, "Father of the Bride"! This movie is on at least once a week in my house.

What’s your favorite book or movie of all time?

EMILY VOGES

Emily is originally from Franklin, Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2021. After working in Public Relations for three years, she moved back to Franklin after getting married and found Studio 36. Emily's favorite things to do in her free time are playing tennis, going to farmers markets/antique stores, and hanging out with her friends and family.

EMILY VOGES

My favorite way to unwind after a long day is going to play tennis with my friends. I also love a night in making a new recipe for dinner and reading with my husband.

What’s your favorite way to decompress after a busy day?

I love all of the laughs we share and the personal relationships we have.

What do you love most about being part of the Studio36 team?

I would describe my personal style as lived-in, traditional with lots of texture and some fun, modern touches. I am inspired by classic Southern and coastal New England homes.
